THE GIANT EXCAVATOR
How big excavator you've ever seen? I'll tell you a giant excavator from LIEBHERR, Excavator R996 Litronic. This is the biggest excavators I've ever seen for real. This machine is operated in the mine where I worked. According to information from Liebherr unit was first issued in May 1995. The overall weight of this machine is 652.8 tons, with bucket capacity of as much as 34 m3 bucket.

785C CAT PURGE & CHARGE FRONT SUSPENSION
This is one of my job as a maintenance mechanic, I'll share it with you. How to purge and charge front suspension of 785C Catterpillar OHT.
Unit Position should be on flat and level
ground and coast the machine to a gentle stop
whitout using the brakes. Please prepare area or space +/-2 m from left
& right side of truck.Install four wheel chock on rear tires. Turn off master battery disconnect switch, Attach a “TAGGING & LOCK OUT” tag at the battery isolation box and Attach personal danger tag.

Prepare hydraulic jack as required, Prepare for correct tools to charging and make sure the Nitrogen is used. Never used Oxygen.
Before you perform any repairs, please read all safety procedure and used MSDS system to get
precaution on safe work. Connect charging chucks and hose at both front suspension. Open valves and drain oil and nitrogen charge into suitable catch-tank until cylinder have bottomed completely. Once the suspension are fully retracted wait a further 5 minutes until oil and nitrogen stops.

Check the relief valve for the grease. The relief valve may need to be removed in order to clean the old grease from the valve. Connect oil line to oil supply into the charging chuck for both front suspension. Mark zero position for reference line on the top edge of the axle and line up with zero reference at the steel rule with paint pen. Adjust the air pressure on the regulator. The air pressure must not exceed 860 kPa (125 psi). Inject oil into the suspension cylinder until the suspension rod has been extend about 25 mm from reference line (reference line on the chrome lines up with reference line on the ruler).
WARNING
Release pressure in hoses before removing

Using suspension charging tool, connect nitrogen charging lines to both front cylinder. Open Nitrogen bottle valve. Adjust the regulator pressure slowly. Put the Jack under the frames and raise the truck until the rear struts are fully extended. Re-adjust the Nitrogen regulator to appropriate pressure and charge both of the suspension.
Using VIMS display to check parameter codes 720 and 722 have reached this pressure. Once both cylinder have stabilized at this pressure, close off the shut off valves and nitrogen tank. Release the pressure in the line, Remove all tool and install valve caps. Lower truck off the stands then move the truck and come to a smooth gradual stop. Check the height of the chrome rod and record the height. Specification 254 +/- 13 mm (10 +/- 0.5 inch). Measure ride height suspension after charging. If the height of chrome rod showing still below the specification , restart from step 10, but do it on one cylinder at one time, with 5 psi added on the last known pressure. Record the last pressure and ride height. Calibration the payload after adjustment the suspension.

Oil Viscosity
Oil viscosity definitly as the measure of an oil thickness and ability to flow at certain temperatures. Oil viscosity is very influential on the machine performance. As a maintenance mechanic we know some oil as a lubricant, each component of the frictional machine requires lubrication to minimize wear and tear.

Preventive Maintenance For Batteries
The battery is often overlooked in many preventive
maintenance programs. This is unfortunate because, with a
little care, battery life can be substantially extended.
The most important is to make sure electrolyte levels are
checked at appropriate intervals. Standard, or conventional,
batteries should be checked every 100 hours. Electrolyte
levels should be checked in low maintenance batteries at
each 250-hour interval. No acid level check is required or
can be performed on the maintenance-free design.
If the electrolyte level is low, add only distilled water to
keep possible contaminants out of the battery. While
checking the electrolyte, make a few other visual
inspections:
1. Is there any indication of damage or corrosion on the
battery terminals, the battery box or wiring? If so, clean or
replace the necessary components. Cleaning can best be
done with a solution of baking soda and water (1 1/2 cups
baking soda per gallon of water). Visual inspection could
also alert you to the possibility of a cracked battery which
could only be identified by corrosion in the battery tray.
2. Are the hold-downs tightened correctly? Vibration will
destroy a battery faster than anything else.
3. Is there debris under the battery? This must be removed
when hold-downs are tightened as this can cause holes to be
worn in the case and result in loss of electrolyte.
4. Are all vent caps correctly in place? Loss of vent caps
can pose a potential hazard and permit contamination of the
battery.
5. Are the alternator belts tight? If not, the battery will not
charge correctly and poor performance will result.
6. What is the alternator output voltage? Use a voltmeter to
check it. This will identify both low charging voltages due
to loose fan belt and also high charging voltages which can
damage a battery. Alternator charging voltage should be
13.5 to 14.5 volts for a 12 volt system and 27.0 to 29.0 for a
24 volt system.
While the maintenance-free batteries do not require
electrolyte checks, do steps 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 every 1,000
hours for maximum battery life.
Another important factor in prolonging battery life is proper
storage. Batteries are perishable items and can lose
efficiency when not in use. Batteries discharge faster in high
temperatures so they should be stored in the coolest place
possible. Small, constant electrical current loads like
brushless alternators, electronics, clocks, etc., can run a
battery down when not in use. if a machine will not be used
for 30 days or more, open the disconnect switch or remove
the ground (negative) cable from the battery.

My Jobs part 2
My jobs divided by 2 based on work location, the first work location in workshop andthe second in field or mine area. To this posting I only will discuss my job i shall do at the workshop. Work roster at workshop is begun at 6 clock and end at 6 clock. It’s differ while operative workday at each location. Temporary this is just three locations I ever visit, two reside in south borneo while one again reside in east borneo. Two locations at borneo south named satui and senakin, two locations has by one company that has mine tune.
While job whom i do at third location there is no different for job that done at workshop. as a maintenance mechanic My job of course do maintenance and repair to machines that is used for mine operational.
Maintenance that done is maintenance service due to schedule, most often done air good filters replacement, oil and fuel. This matter is at does to prevent damage early contamination consequence exist in air oil and fuel. Dirt found on lubricant oil will have bad in engine ability within fast or slow.
Besides oil replacement is done according to periodically, where does oil ability in certain age very decreased, so that necessary done replacement to innovate lubricant oil condition. For oil not yet achieve only done investigation level oil. At the (time) of do servis also done investigation in engine component, if ascertained condition from component engine broken or be estimated will broken prior to servis next so be done replacement or repair, the example condition hose that leak, so soon be done replacement to will decrease the happening of demage moment engine will operate. Decrease it operation time from engine will have to decrease it operational productivity. this is undesirable absolutely by company.

Now i will tell you may carreer. In the last year of my schoolarship next to graduation, some company give any presentation to uor school to reqruiting new fresh graduate to become their employee or trainee. But the Company that I got job wasn't give a presentation. it's just ads vacation on notice board. I apply for the vacation as a trainee or we called the apprentice. This apprenticeship program has long period program, yups.. 5 years the appreticeship program in contract. wew... But it is running just 4 years. When I write this posting, I was in 4th years program, so a few next months I will graduate, horray...!
After graduate from this program as the aggreement that I was aggreed, I have to keep in touch for next three years as permanent employee, hicks....it won't to long I think, thats right? OK thats my carreer, how about my job?
I work as mechanic, you certain know to how a mechanic work, very tire, even less without subsidized with complete device, all be done according to manual handling (good manner manual handling ). In a flash about company where i work, company this one of company mine contractor big enough exist in indonesia. Get several contracts at different location from mine location owner . I ceritra a little shall hit my job some people consider it very heavy.
Begin from office hours, I work from clock 6 morning until clock 6 afternoon, yes true 12 office hours. get up morning around 4 and prepare everything, then clock 5: 30 will wait bus that will deliver me to work place. distance from home to work place is goed during 30 minutes.
At work precisely at coal-mine of course use heavy device for mine operational. for mine operational smoothness so wanted a departement that is maintenance departement heavy device that for mine operational. heavy equuipment that is rented of course need treatment and repair if (there are) any demage in device. my job is does treatment and repair in heavy device.
